Knitting for me

Start again, somehow the publish button pressed right in the middle!

Having finished things for other people for Christmas, I’ve gone back to knitting for me. Actually this scarf/wrap/stole I finished in time to take it to London with me at Christmas. The colours are really Christmassy and so I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to wear it.

About OneFrenchWord

I was a professional linguist and have been a life-long foodie. I am now lucky enough to be retired and free to roam the beaches around my home at the tip of the Finistère (Brittany, France). Writing is occupying a larger place in my life, with this blog and a children's book in preparation. I shall feel much happier calling myself a writer when I have published a book. And so posts on OneFrenchWord will be published first as an e-book, my ambition being to see a glossy volume on French language and cuisine in print some day. So keep reading, and snap up the book when it appears!

Now, that looks lovely. I bet it’s cosy. Is it Colinette yarn?

Aaah, une connaisseuse! Yes, I ordered it specially. Colinette is my very favourite yarn. I usually try to knit from my stash, but I wanted this really Christmassy, so I ordered all but tiny bits of it (a little old maroon wool, and some silver, and the fuzzy grey was also in my stash).

LOL, I thought I recognised it. We visit them once a year in May. I use their yarns with my embellisher. I love all things textiley.

    Sorry, what’s an embellisher?
